Port San Luis Harbor is a shining jewel of the Central Coast of California. It’s located just a few miles (1.5) down that same road that brings you into Avila Beach. The harbor (and some of Avila) is controlled by the Port San Luis Harbor District and the Harbor Patrol. They were established in 1954 to oversee the area. You read more about them on the history page. The harbor offers is a mix of tourist activities and fishing to its guests. Ocean camping in Port San LuisOne of the most amazing parts of the port is the RV Camping. You can dry camp (no hookups) on one of the two turnouts. You really can’t camp any closer to the Pacific Ocean then this. They also have full hookups up in the hills that provide a breathtaking view of the Harbor. People travel all over the world and pay hundreds of dollars a night for hotels with views not this good. Just load up the family and come experience this for just $30-$50 per night.
